Trellix Discloses Source Code Hack

Privately-held, extended detection and response firm Trellix disclosed over the weekend that hackers found their way to its source-code repository.

The company, heir to FireEye security appliance business and McAfee Enterprise, said that investigation so far turned up "no evidence that our source-code release or distribution process was affected, or that our source code has been exploited."
Hackers only gained access to "a portion" of the repository, the company said. It pledged to share further details after concluding an investigation.
Trellix is not the first cybersecurity firm to recently fall to hackers. Application security company Checkmarx said April 27 that hackers similarly gained access to code repository, on GitHub. The threat actor stole information on March ...
