Nintendo Offers Free Games Prior to Switch 2 Price Hike

Nintendo announced on Friday it would raise the price of its Switch 2 consoles to $500 starting Sept. 1. The price increase of $50 is the first time the Switch 2 has gone up in cost since its launch last June. 

"This is in response to various changes in market conditions, which are expected to extend over the medium to long term," the company said in a press release. "We understand that pricing changes can be challenging for customers and deeply appreciate the continued enthusiasm of our fans for Nintendo products and experiences."

To help soften the blow of the price jump, Nintendo revealed on Monday a new Switch 2: Choose Your Game Bundle. These new bundles will cost $500 and will come with a digital code to download one of three Nintendo games: Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza and Pokemon Pokopia. Nintendo says the ...
