Meta Plans to Train Workplace AI by Tracking Employees' Clicks and Keystrokes
extremetech.comMeta will start using new tracking software on employee computers in the US to gather training data for its workplace AI agents, Reuters reported Tuesday. Its Model Capability Initiative (MCI) will capture mouse movements, clicks, keystrokes, and screenshots from internal tools. Meta says it wants to use real examples of how employees interact with software so that its AI systems can learn to perform everyday tasks on the computer.
Based on what we know, it appears Meta's MCI will only operate on company-issued machines and work-related software.
"The vision we are building towards is one where our agents primarily do the work and our role is to direct, review, and help them improve," Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth wrote in an internal memo sent to employees on Monday.
