Gemini's Global 'Personal Intelligence' Feature Is About as Unprivate as AI Assistants Get
extremetech.comGoogle has rolled out its Personal Intelligence framework to Gemini users in more regions after a few weeks of US-only availability. The system deeply integrates with the Google services people already use, pulling data from Gmail, Drive, Photos, Calendar, Maps, and YouTube history to answer questions and perform tasks in a more personalized way.
Personal Intelligence allows users to ask Gemini to summarize inboxes, track orders, recall past trips, or surface photos using the information already in their Google accounts. Google's examples show Gemini locating a user's license plate, offering reading recommendations based on past book purchases, and restaurant suggestions based on flight confirmations. Presumably, these queries involved pulling information from users' Photos, Gmail, and Drive.
