Atlassian Team 26 - From AI novice to AI native in a decade of disruptive change

Changing your organization from AI novice to AI native was one of the themes at this year’s Atlassian Team 26 in Anaheim. The opening keynote offered a peak into the AI crystal ball, with Ethan Mollick Innovation Expert and AI thought leader, at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Magnus Östberg Chief Software Officer, Mercedes-Benz AG discussing the future of the human AI workforce, and how organizations could move from AI novice to an AI native.

Wharton’s Mollick began by trying to define an AI native.

He said:

I don't think AI native means very much yet. We did a study of consultants using AI, and we found that junior people were worse in using AI than senior people. So at the individual level, AI native doesn't mean very much at all.
