First the good news – for AI vendors. Every minute of every day, $1.21 million is spent on AI, up 312% year on year, valuing the global market at $630.72 billion, by my calculations. Also in every minute, 1.9 million AI chips are sold, thirty-five custom AI agents are created, and 23,611 images are generated – some of which may even be legal (though you can’t copyright them, confirmed the US Supreme Court this week).

Meanwhile in that same minute, ChatGPT is prompted 694,000 times, DeepSeek 347,000 times, and $184,046 in venture capital is raised by AI start-ups.

The figures, sourced from a Domo Analytics report AI Never Sleeps, were presented by Theresa Payton, former White House CIO – the first woman in the role, under President George W Bush – and now a consultant as CEO of cybersecurity specialist Fortalice Solutions.
