- The update natively integrates censorship-resistant AmneziaWG protocol
- This comes as a fix to"ongoing VPN connection issues" in the regions
Windscribe has officially launched a new beta version of its Android VPN app specifically engineered to bypass the intensifying internet censorship currently gripping Iran and Russia.
The update, announced via the provider’s social media channels, introduces native support for the AmneziaWG protocol, a stealth technology designed to mask VPN traffic as ordinary web activity. This should allow users to slip past the sophisticated Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) blocking methods used by authoritarian regimes.
This release delivers on a promise for "solutions" to the ongoing VPN crackdown made at the end of January, when Windscribe acknowledged that its standard connections were being aggressively targeted.
