Windows 11's Long-Awaited Taskbar Speed Test Isn't Built-in, After All

Now that it's available to Windows Insiders, however, it's clear the speed test isn't all it was cracked up to be. Rather than offering a built-in experience, the new tool simply directs users to Bing.
The new option appears when users click the network icon on the taskbar and select the "Internet Speed Test" entry. The shortcut then opens the default browser and loads a Bing page that runs a basic speed test inside the web interface. Users see download, upload, and latency results from that page, not from a built‑in Windows panel.
