Why trust and transparency in recruitment are becoming increasingly important in the AI age


The growing use of AI in the recruitment process appears to be leading to an arms race, which is damaging trust on both sides of the employer and candidate equation.

According to a 2025 AI in Hiring report conducted by hiring platform Greenhouse, a significant 46% of the job seekers questioned indicated their trust in the recruitment process had fallen over the last year. Some 42% put the blame for this situation directly at AI’s door.

Around a third of hiring managers across the US and Europe, on the other hand, said they were more actively involved in recruitment this year than last. This was due to such concerns as fake candidate credentials and misrepresented experience.
