Why AI-Powered Cyberattacks Demand Preemptive Defense

Nearly all malicious domains are now unique to a single enterprise - a development Infoblox's Scott Harrell said undermines the traditional model of shared threat intelligence.

As each attack becomes unique, the benefits of global threat sharing diminish. That creates a need to shift from a largely reactive defense stance to one that's more proactive in nature, Harrell said. Most security tools detect malicious activity after it's already present in the network, but analyzing DNS infrastructure patterns means malicious domains can predicted and blocked before they're operationalized, he said (see: AI Is Raising the Expectations for Entry-Level Engineers).
