This WhatsApp setting will upgrade your photos and videos — here’s how to use it

WhatsApp has had a small but useful feature for a couple of years now, and it’s one that you may well not know about, but will likely use a lot once you learn about it.

If you haven’t guessed from the title of this article, the feature in question is HD photos and videos, so in other words the ability to send photos and videos in HD quality.

For photos, that means 4096 x 2692, rather than the 1600 x 1052 resolution offered by standard quality, and for videos, you’re getting 720p rather than 480p — so if you’re shooting 1080p or 4K videos then this still isn’t full quality, but it’s a definite upgrade.
