The Year in Review - the year in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion


It’s been a sadly mixed year for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI). Under Trump 2.0, many firms have been vocal about scaling back diversity strategies. They’re no doubt looking to curry favor with a president who has long made clear his abhorrence of what he sees as ‘woke’.

This year, my top 10 picks include four that are themed around women in technology. Too heavily focused on one specific aspect of DEI perhaps? Not so when women make up half the world’s population, but still only account for 20-25% of the tech workforce.

On a more positive note, it’s been encouraging to find out how technology is helping charities like Age UK and the MND Association become more inclusive. We even get a cameo from actor Idris Elba in our year in DEI, as the latest string to his bow is as an assistive tech ...
