The Nintendo Virtual Boy was a flop on its first go around in the 90s, and in 2026 it isn’t any better as a Nintendo Switch accessory. There’s a novelty and beauty to the strange VR headset, but the actual user experience as a headset is nauseating and uncomfortable. At $99.99 / £66.99 / AU$139.95 it simply isn’t worthwhile, and yet the cheaper cardboard version seems even less appealing.
