That’s according to new research by Samsara, which found that the ongoing shortage of commercial drivers across the UK looks set to only get worse. And if left unresolved, it could threaten supply chains and steer the country towards a driver shortage last seen in 2021.
Since then, both the government and the industry have taken steps to boost recruitment, including the roll-out of government-backed skills bootcamps. But the fact remains that part of the problem lies in the way the industry is perceived by others.
