Technology brings flexibility to Workspace Group


Recent years have given the impression that flexible offices are a Silicon Valley invention. One London organization has been in the sector since 1987. Its Head of Technology, Chris Boultwood tells diginomica about the role technology plays in customer service and ambition at Workspace Group.

Workspace Group is the largest flexible office, studio, workshop and light industrial unit provider in London. The business can trace its roots to the privatization of commercial property by the Greater London Council, a former public sector body for the capital city. In 1993, it was listed on the London Stock Exchange, and the business owns the buildings, which Boultwood says gives them confidence and the ability to pivot according to market demands. As a result, Workspace Group was able to launch meeting room rental and a co-working club rival to former Silicon Valley darling WeWork with relative ease.
