Team ’25 Europe – why Atlassian has added a talent app for teams

One of the intriguing announcements from Atlassian at its Team '25 conference in April was the launch of Talent, a completely new workforce planning app. To coincide with last week's Team Europe event, Talent has now been released to general availability. To find out what prompted Atlassian to add a capability that's usually more associated with HCM vendors, I caught up with Natalia Baryshnikova, Head of Product for Enterprise Strategy & Planning.

She explains that Atlassian initially built the app to serve its own internal needs. It had found that existing tools weren't giving it the right view of the workforce to able to rapidly reallocate resources as it adopted new strategies. There was an information gap between the traditional workforce planning tools that HCM vendors supply and the work management tools like Jira and Align that Atlassian provides.
