Samsung Accidentally Confirms Galaxy S26 Ultra’s Built-In Privacy Display


Samsung seems to have accidentally confirmed the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra's Privacy Display in a blog post about One UI 8.5 updates for Good Lock. A since-removed screenshot from the post shows a dedicated Privacy Display toggle in the Quick Settings panel, positioned between the music widget and Nearby devices option, officially verifying the hardware (and software)-driven privacy feature.

The Privacy Display uses Samsung Display's Flex Magic Pixel technology, which uses AI to adjust OLED pixels and narrow viewing angles, creating a privacy film effect that blocks visibility from the sides.

The feature incorporates three display technologies, according to Sam Mobile:

  • M14 OLED material that reportedly offers 44% better power efficiency and 50% longer lifespan,

  • Color filter on Encapsulation (CoE) that replaces the polarizer with color filters printed on thin-film encapsulation,

  • and Flex Magic Pixel itself.
