Pixel Devices Experiencing Bugs Following Latest Google Play System Update


Pixel users (mostly those using the Pixel 9 and 10 lines) are facing issues with their devices after updating to the Google Play system update released Jan. 5. The 15MB update is reportedly connected to boot failures, notification delays, and even display freezes.

Pixel 10 Pro users are experiencing persistent black screens, even after they restart their devices. Some devices are loading only the wallpaper with no status bars or app icons. Others are struggling with long boot times, but remain operational.

Users are also reporting notification systems failing to deliver alerts on time, with dozens of notifications flooding in simultaneously after manual restarts. Finally, a display bug initially observed in December (a random always-on display flicker) has persisted, causing screens to become unresponsive to touch despite otherwise functioning normally.
