Most Enterprise AI Users Save Just an Hour of Work Per Day

A majority of users save 40 to 60 minutes of work time by using AI at the office, while power users slash up to 10 hours per week.

OpenAI published its first report on the state of enterprise AI last Monday, demonstrating that 800 million people use ChatGPT each week. This data comes from real-world usage patterns and a survey of 9,000 workers from nearly 100 companies.

Despite the rapid growth of AI everywhere, the time users save on the job—one of generative AI's most touted benefits—remain fairly modest. Around three quarters of surveyed workers indicated that AI recoups between 40 to 60 minutes per day, with heavy users slashing more than 10 hours per week.
