Microsoft Paint Update Introduces AI Coloring Book Generator

Microsoft has released a new Paint update that introduces an AI-powered coloring book generator. Rolling out now to Windows Insiders in the Canary and Dev channels, version 11.2512.191.0 lets users create custom coloring pages from text prompts.

The coloring book feature sits in the Copilot menu and can accept relatively simple prompts, such as "a cute fluffy cat on a donut" or "a house with a garden and fence." Paint then generates multiple black-and-white line art options that one can add to the canvas, copy, or save.

This feature is limited to Copilot+ PCs, meaning users need hardware with dedicated NPUs and must sign in with a Microsoft account. As of now, the company hasn't announced when the feature will be available to all Windows 11 users outside the Insider program, or whether hardware requirements will be relaxed in the future.
