Micron Addresses the End of Its Crucial Brand and the AI Boom
extremetech.comWe are fast approaching the end of Micron's Crucial memory brand as the company adjusts to seemingly inexhaustible demand from AI data centers. Christopher Moore, VP of marketing, mobile, and client business, spoke to Wccftech and addressed concerns that Micron, one of the larger memory makers, won't have a RAM and SSD brand for DIY PC builders. Moore argues that Micron is still delivering memory to consumers, albeit not with retail products.
"So, I would never want to tell someone what to think or that they're wrong, but our viewpoint is that we are trying to help consumers around the world," Moore told Wccftech in an interview. "We still have a very sizable business in the client and mobile markets. We are also, of course, servicing our data center customers."
