From the RSAC Conference 2025 in San Francisco, four ISMG editors discussed highlights from the second day, including supply chain security, AI-fueled crime, developments in cryptography and the increasing data sovereignty concerns globally.

During the annual cryptographers' panel, Adi Shamir - one of the world's leading cryptographers who represents the "S" in the RSA cryptosystem - said blockchain technology still has potential as a decentralized ledger, but its main beneficiary, cryptocurrency, has fueled a massive rise in cybercrime. Shamir told attendees "the world would be a better place if they've never been invented," said Mathew Schwartz, executive editor for DataBreachToday and Europe.
