As Kayla Baum, Chief Executive at corporate wellness program provider Twello, points out, the biggest concern she is hearing from employers in this context is:
Worsening productivity and quality of work. For example, if a few years ago it took someone an hour to complete a task, it’s now taking three. It depends on the job but it’s certainly measurable in high input-output jobs, such as customer service or IT helpdesk. It’s in those areas that I’m seeing the most concern.
However, she believes there is little understanding of the underlying reality of the situation. Dr Sydney Ceruto, Founder and Chief Executive of coaching practice MindLab Neuroscience, agrees:
