iPhone Users Can Soon Move Safari Data Directly Into Chrome
extremetech.comGoogle is adding a new functionality to the iPhone version of Google Chrome that lets you transfer your Safari browsing data to Chrome. The feature, currently in Chrome 145 beta, removes the need for a laptop or desktop computer to complete the transfer.
The feature works in two phases. First, it lets you export your Safari data (like bookmarks, history, and passwords) as a file from iPhone Settings, then pick that file inside Chrome. Chrome then reads that file, shows you what it found, and adds that data to your Chrome account so it's ready to use on all your devices.
To begin the transfer, open iPhone Settings, navigate to Safari, and tap Export Browsing Data to create a ZIP file saved to iCloud Drive Downloads. From there, Chrome should walk you through selecting your file and completing the import. When the process is complete, Chrome will inform you ...
