Into 2026 - will this be the 'year of truth' for AI? Here's why Capgemini thinks it might be

Capgemini has selected five trends for 2026, which it aired during a roundtable executive discussion late last year, hosted by Pascal Brier, the company’s Chief Innovation Officer. Here's what Capgemini sees as coming down the tracks in the next 12 months.

First, this will be the 'year of truth' for AI. Mark Roberts, CTO Applied Sciences explained:

The mood around AI is changing as innovation theatre is being replaced by a more mature conversation. We are reaching a stage of weaving AI into the fabric of organizations so we will be talking about the integration of AI into processes, rather than talking about innovation with AI. Strangely, AI is over-hyped and under-hyped at the same time because it is a transformative technology and will be embedded in everything we do.
