How Evisort's CEO is bringing an AI startup mentality to Workday - and what AI means for enterprises and workers

The history of enterprise tech is littered with the cautionary tales of vendors that weren’t able to adapt fast enough to change. Workday doesn’t want to join that list. So when it acquired AI startup Evisort last year, it wasn’t only acquiring some very effective document intelligence software — though that in itself is an important asset — it was also acquiring a team with an AI startup mindset.

Now Jerry Ting, the founding CEO of Evisort, is helping to shape Workday’s AI agent product strategy. His job title recently changed to Vice President, Head of Agentic AI and Evisort, reflecting his new role as part of a team that’s reimagining how Workday builds product in the agentic AI era. One change that he believes is fundamental is to put together cross-functional teams. He explains:
