Here’s What's New With Apple's M4 iPad Air
extremetech.comAs part of its week of special announcements, Apple on Monday introduced a new iPad Air that runs on Apple's one-generation-old M4 chip.
In terms of form, the M4 iPad Air keeps the same 11‑inch and 13‑inch sizes and a similar flat‑edge design—with a USB-C port at the bottom, side-mounted volume buttons, and a Touch ID-equipped button on top—as the M3 iPad Air. It also maintains the M3 model's LCD panel, so OLED screens are still reserved for the Pro lineup. The tablet supports current accessories, including keyboard cases and Apple Pencil Pro.
Inside, the M4 chip has an 8‑core CPU, 9‑core GPU, and a 16‑core Neural Engine. This makes it similar to the M3 variant, with the only difference being that the M4 has 3 performance and 5 efficiency cores, while the M3 has 4 performance and 4 efficiency ...
