Hello, hello, hello - Bobbi's on the beat as the first police agentic AI assistant in England & Wales

In an earlier article we looked at some of the opportunities and challanges presented by AI in the policing sector, concluding that there is great enablement potential, but no prospect of it being the silver bullet that some might hope.

A good practical example of how AI might work in the law enforcement space has just kicked off in the UK with the launch of Bobbi, the country’s first virtual AI policing assistant, which is being piloted at two Forces in England & Wales, Thames Valley Police and Hampshire & Isle of White Constabulary.

Built on Salesforce Agentforce, Bobbi is intended to pick up some of the more routine day-to-day interactions that the public has with the police. Chief Superintendent Simon Dodds, Head of Contact Management for Thames Valley Police and Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary, explains:
