Google Messages Could Soon Get Live Location Sharing Via Find Hub


Google Messages is about to gain some exciting new location features thanks to improved integration with Android's Find Hub. According to an APK teardown detailed by 9to5Google, users will be able to share their locations within text conversations and see their pin update in real time without having to open Google Maps. (The option to send a static pin is already available.)

A string of code in the latest Google Messages beta (version 20260220_01_RC00) reads, "Make it easy for friends to find where you are without leaving Google Messages." 9to5Google says that when you share your location using this feature, your pin will move with you, and you'll be able to see your friends' locations on the same map (provided they also shared their locations).
