Google Maps Can Automatically Pin Your Parked Car—If You Have an iPhone


If you often forget where you park, this new Google Maps feature is for you. The navigation software now automatically records your car's location when you park and can display an icon on the map. When you return to the parking lot, just open Google Maps to find your car, says Maps product manager Rio Akasaka. Once you start driving, the parking icon disappears.

"No more taking photos in parking lots or fiddling with app settings or taking screenshots to remember," Akasaka wrote in a post on LinkedIn. "Get in a car with Google Maps and connect to your car with USB, Bluetooth, or CarPlay, and once you're done driving, there's a little pin waiting for you when you open Google Maps next—a personal parking Maps valet, just for you."
