Display Manufacturers Are Already Preparing for Apple's 20th-Anniversary iPhone

Apple is planning a 20th-anniversary iPhone model for 2027, likely sacrificing the iPhone 19 moniker as it did with the nonexistent iPhone 9. But this special anniversary iPhone has triggered contrasting responses from its two potential display suppliers, LG and Samsung.

LG Display has begun mass production preparations for the special iPhone's display panels and is actively ordering equipment from manufacturers, Dealsite reports. This goes hand in hand with Apple's vision for a bezel-free design that will most likely use a four-sided bending technology. This might be somewhat similar to Samsung's Galaxy Note Edge displays from 2014, which curved only the left and right sides, but Apple's approach allegedly wraps the screen around all four edges of the device.
