DDR5 Memory Prices Fall Slightly in Europe


DDR5 memory prices appear to have fallen slightly in February, after months of meteoric rises that saw kits triple in price throughout 2025. This is specifically in Europe, so it may not be repeated in other territories, but it suggests that the confluence of spiking memory demand and crashing supply may have stabilized again, and hopefully ends some of the catastrophic price rises we saw last year.

Due to the AI data center expansion that dominated last year's headlines, the largest memory manufacturers—Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron—all announced pivots to data center-friendly HBM, further constraining supply. Demand shot up as everyone tried to get ahead of the problem, and panic buying saw the price of standard DDR5 kits increase by over 300% in some cases.
