Claude is down for many – here's everything we know so far

While Anthropic Claude's own status page isn't showing any issues as of yet, it's clear that the popular AI chatbot is having some issues this morning. Whether it's providing an error before you type in a prompt or simply not answering, Claude is having some problems.

Reports on Down Detector – a site that tracks outages based on user reports – for Claude have spiked to over 2,000 in a fairly short period, as we first saw a spike at 10:29 AM ET. In my free Claude account on desktop, I'm seeing a "This isn't working right now" message, while my colleagues are getting a similar message or simply can't sign in.
