Akasa Shows Off 1,000W GPU Cooler Design for High-End RTX Cards

Akasa is set to showcase several new GPU cooler designs at Embedded World 2026 in Nuremberg, Germany, including an air-cooled vapor chamber design rated for 1,000W, VideoCardz reports. Sure, it's designed for data centers and will probably be incredibly loud, but an air-cooled 1,000W GPU cooler sounds like a fun project for modders, too.

Keeping a super-high-end graphics card cool is a major challenge (especially when you apply an aftermarket BIOS). Top consumer GPUs like the RTX 5090 can easily pump out 600W of heat when running at full tilt, and the data center GPUs with higher core and memory counts can produce even more. Although liquid cooling is the main way these kinds of GPUs are chilled down to operational temperatures, air cooling is far cheaper and more efficient, so AKASA has developed new vapor chamber designs for power-hungry modern GPUs.
