AI Attacks Expose Limitations of Traditional Security Tools

Artificial intelligence-based attacks continue to grow in scale and sophistication, and security teams are struggling to counter threats that evolve faster than their tools. Enterprises relying on firewalls and web application filters aren't able to keep pace with adversaries who use AI to probe environments and exploit vulnerabilities.

"AI is able to incredibly find zero-day vulnerabilities much cheaper, better, faster than humans … and that exposes those vulnerabilities in a shape and form that security teams find it difficult to plan to mitigate," said Susmita Nayak, senior director of product for gen AI and cybersecurity at Lumen Technologies.
