Agentic Security Won't Just Bolt Onto Cybersecurity Systems

Artificial intelligence agents are poised to take on major roles in security operations centers, but SOC teams can't just layer autonomous agents onto legacy architectures - they need to reimagine the entire security program, said Daniel Bernard, chief business officer at CrowdStrike.

"Our customers are starting to onboard a whole new type of worker - an agentic workforce - to run security with them," he said. "We are big believers that humans won't be eliminated from running security programs. Humans will be elevated, and they'll be supported by, augmented and enhanced with these agents."
Ultimately, specialized AI agents will be able to manage alert volume and investigate threats beyond legacy playbook responses, he said.
