Windows 11 Update Lets You Access Your Phone Directly From the Start Menu

This new panel appears on the right side of the Start menu and is designed in such a way that it is easier for users to check notifications and more.

Microsoft is adding a new way for Windows 11 users to use their phones. With the recent KB5055627 update for Windows 11 24H2, the company is rolling out a Start menu panel that gives quick access to the Phone Link app’s main functions, as reported by Windows Latest (via Windows Report).

This new panel appears on the right side of the Start menu and is designed to make it easier for users to check notifications, read text messages, access photos, and transfer files between their PC and their Android or iPhone. But it also means you will easily get distracted. Microsoft says the panel will become available to all users starting May 13, 2025.
