Why sustainability teams need a data and reporting boost - agents assigned


When Salesforce originally launched what is now Net Zero Cloud in 2019 (it was previously named Sustainability Cloud), the aim was to give businesses a way to quickly track, analyze and report their environmental data to help them reduce carbon emissions.

In the intervening six years, scrutiny of companies’ environmental impact has grown, as has the amount of regulation around sustainability. As a result, Salesforce has just introduced Agentforce for Net Zero Cloud, which the vendor says will help sustainability teams deal with reporting requirements and benefit from additional efficiencies.

A key part of this is improving data access. In a 2024 report from Salesforce and GlobeScan, titled ‘Sustainable Value Creation’, 80% of respondents said high-quality sustainability data was very important to their business, but only 27% had access to it.
