Why Racing to Adopt AI Puts Enterprise Security at Risk

Enterprises are racing to adopt artificial intelligence, but most lack the controls to manage what they're deploying, said Art Gilliland, CEO at Delinea.

A March 2026 Delinea report, based on surveys of roughly 2,000 IT professionals, found that board pressure to move fast is pushing organizations to relax governance policies, even as AI agents proliferate across enterprise environments with broad, unmonitored access. The report revealed a confidence paradox at the heart of enterprise AI adoption: while 80% of organizations claimed AI readiness, only one in three had the tooling to locate all AI activity across their environment.
