Trump Announces Space Command Is Moving From Colorado to Alabama for Dubious Reasons
extremetech.comFollowing days of absence from the public eye, President Trump announced yesterday at a press conference that the US Space Command would relocate from its current facility in Colorado to the Redstone Arsenal military base in Alabama. He claimed the move was mainly to do with placing the command structure near other US military and governmental space facilities—and also that Colorado uses mail-in voting, which he doesn't like.
"That played a big factor, also," Trump said, according to Ars Technica.
Behind the scenes, though, there was some more grounded reasoning for the move. There have reportedly been a number of investigations into the location of Space Command and what kind of associated costs there would be for maintaining it in Colorado.
