While other types of IT jobs like network administrators or software developers are more common and well-known, cybersecurity jobs are smaller in number but fast increasing in importance. As our digital economy has led to more Internet-based computing and networking the world over, organizations have become ever more vulnerable to hacking and cyber-attacks. And, just as a business could hire protection even though a local police force is present, a business must employ cybersecurity personnel. It is essentially the organization’s responsibility to safeguard its proprietary data as well as any consumer details it has access to.
These data security experts are in short supply, however. According to NASSCOM, India will need 1 million cybersecurity professionals by 2020, and Indeed recorded a 150 percent increase in cybersecurity positions between January 2017 and March 2018. In recent years, firms like KPMG have doubled the size of their cybersecurity teams.
