Synnovis Notifying UK Providers of Data Theft in 2024 Attack

A British pathology lab at the center of a June 2024 ransomware attack that disrupted services and led to blood shortages is now notifying affected healthcare providers about a data breach from the incident.

Pathology laboratory services firm Synnovis says it has completed a highly complicated forensics review of data stolen in a June 2024 ransomware attack and will notify the providers by Nov. 21. Under U.K. law, the providers will be responsible for notifying their own affected patients, if deemed necessary, the company said.
