Spring Cleaning for Earth Day: Where to Recycle Computers and Printers for Free

While it can be hard to let go of old technology, recycling your laptops, desktops and printers is so important. If you're spring cleaning for Earth Day, there are easy and sustainable options to clear out all that ancient tech. Plus, you could probably use the space it's taking up in your home. 

A CNET survey published Monday shows that 31% of US adults are still holding onto their unused old devices, including laptops, because they aren't sure what to do with them. The survey also found that 29% of respondents use a recycling service to dispose of old tech, while 19% toss old devices in the trash. 

But throwing away your old devices is actually illegal, and can draw hefty fines in some states.
