Sophos purchased a British cybersecurity assurance startup led by a longtime Softcat executive to more effectively align risk with business and regulatory expectations.

The Oxford, England-based SMB security stalwart said its acquisition of London-based Arco Cyber will help organizations determine what controls they have, how effectively they're working and how they map to regulatory obligations and business risk, said Rob Harrison, senior vice president of product management. Arco stood out because of its ability to map security technologies and controls into a risk-scoring model.
