Some Android Users Can Now Edit RCS Messages Sent to iPhones

History proves that text messaging between Android and iOS users has been more often frustrating than not. But recent changes are making it easier to communicate between the two platforms. RCS is the new messaging standard, and Apple is finally accepting it after Google had tried to persuade it for years.

RCS allows users on both systems to share high-quality media, be 'seen' when messages are read, and know when someone is typing. But the ability to edit messages sent from Android to iPhone has been missing—until now. As reported by Android Authority, it is now beginning to appear for some Android users.

Editing messages has been available for iPhone-to-iPhone chats through iMessage and for Android-to-Android chats using RCS for about a year.
