Federal securities regulators abandoned their remaining charges against SolarWinds and its chief information security officer, ending a high-profile lawsuit that accused the company of masking cybersecurity weaknesses ahead of a far-reaching Russian cyberattack.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, SolarWinds and CISO Tim Brown asked a federal court in a Thursday filing to end the case with prejudice, closing litigation that grew out of the 2020 Russian-linked espionage campaign - and a 2023 enforcement push that analysts said alarmed the CISO community.
