Samsung Scores Nintendo Switch 2 Chip Gig

Samsung scored a major win for its foundry business by landing a contract to build custom processors for Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2 gaming console. That’s according to a report from Bloomberg, which noted that processor job is a leg up for Samsung as it competes with TSMC in the chip foundry arena. The news confirms previous reports suggesting that Samsung could be involved in the Switch 2’s processor. It marks a change for Nintendo, which used TSMC for the first-generation Switch and its updated models.
