A newly released memo reveals the Chinese hacking group Salt Typhoon infiltrated an unnamed state's Army National Guard network from March to December 2024, potentially stealing sensitive military data over nearly a year.

The Chinese Communist Party-linked group behind the hacks on U.S. telecom infrastructure in 2024 also “extensively compromised a U.S. state's Army National Guard network,” according to a Department of Homeland Security memo obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request by the nonprofit Property of the People.
