It’s been a bumpy few months for mortgage rates. Lingering inflation, the threat of a global trade war and growing recession worries have reduced affordable options for homebuyers.

The average interest rate for a standard 30-year fixed mortgage is 6.84% today, down -0.09% compared to one week ago. The average rate for a 15-year fixed mortgage is 6.03%, which is a decrease of -0.07% compared to a week ago.
