Video meeting links arrive in inboxes every day, which is exactly why attackers keep using them as bait. Security researchers have now documented a phishing campaign that imitates Zoom and Google Meet meetings to trick people into installing monitoring software on their Windows computers.
Unlike other campaigns where hackers use known malware or build their own, the attackers rely on Teramind, a legitimate employee monitoring platform normally used by companies to track activity on corporate devices. In this case, the tool is repurposed so attackers can spy on victims who believe they are simply joining an online meeting.
